Abstract

The ability to follow instructions is a crucial aspect of early childhood development, as it serves as the foundation for adapting, communicating, and participating in learning activities both at school and in daily life. Based on observations at Al Fattah Kindergarten, many children in Group B still experience difficulties in understanding and executing instructions, whether simple or multi-step. This occurs because children aged 5–6 years comprehend visual and concrete information more easily than purely verbal explanations. This study aims to improve the ability of Group B children to follow instructions through the implementation of picture card media. The method used is classroom action research conducted in two cycles, consisting of planning, implementing, observing, and reflecting stages. The results showed that the use of picture cards significantly improved the children's ability to follow instructions. In Cycle I, 73% of the children were able to follow instructions correctly, which increased to 100% in Cycle II. In conclusion, picture card media is highly effective as a learning tool to stimulate the understanding and skills of following instructions in Group B children.
